What this covers
Vytley builds digital invitations that guests keep in Apple Wallet and Google Wallet. This notice explains what we collect, why, and what you can ask us to do about it.
We are the data controller for information collected through this site. Where you use Vytley to invite your own guests, you are the controller for your guest list and we act as processor on your behalf.
What we collect
We collect only what we need to run the service:
- Waitlist signups — your first name and email address, only if you choose to give them.
- Event details you enter while personalising an invitation — names, dates, venues and any blessing text.
- Guest information you upload once you are hosting an event — names, contact details, RSVP responses and dietary requirements.
- Guestbook messages, voice notes and photos that you or your guests choose to add.
- Basic technical data — pages requested, approximate region and device type, used to keep the service working. If you accept analytics cookies, we also collect aggregated page views and performance timings through Vercel.
Religious and cultural information
Vytley lets you set an invitation in Arabic, Hebrew, Devanagari or Gurmukhi and add a traditional blessing. Choosing a blessing can reveal religious belief, which is a special category of personal data under UK and EU law.
We treat it accordingly: it is stored only as part of your invitation, used only to render and deliver that invitation, and never used to profile you, segment you for marketing, or shared with advertisers. You can remove it at any time by editing or deleting the invitation.
How we use it
To create and deliver your invitations and wallet passes, to keep those passes updated when your event changes, to collect and show you RSVPs, guestbook messages and photos, and to email you when Vytley opens if you joined the waitlist.
We do not sell personal data. We do not use your guest list to market to your guests.
Who else processes it
We use a small number of providers to run the service. Hosting and file storage are with Vercel. If you accept analytics, Vercel also processes aggregated usage and performance data on our behalf. Apple and Google receive the pass content necessary to place an invitation in a guest's wallet, and their own privacy terms apply to what happens on the device. Each processes data on our instructions, or as their own controller once the pass is on the phone.
How long we keep it
Waitlist entries are kept until we have emailed you that Vytley is open, then deleted within 30 days — or sooner if you ask us to delete them.
Event details, guest lists, RSVPs, guestbook entries and photos are kept until 12 months after the last ceremony on that invitation, so you can still open the page, the album and the replies. After that we delete them. Wallet passes already on a guest's phone stay on the phone; we stop updating them once the record is gone.
You can ask us to delete an event or a waitlist signup sooner. Write to hello@vytley.com and we will do it within one month.
Cookies
Essential cookies are used only to keep a signed-in staff session (Admin, Studio or House) and to remember your analytics choice. Public visitors who never sign in receive at most the consent cookie.
Optional analytics — Vercel Web Analytics and Speed Insights — load only after you accept them. They help us see which pages are used and whether the site is slow. They are not used for advertising and we do not sell the data.
You can change your choice at any time on the Cookies page. That page lists every cookie we set.
Your rights
You can ask for a copy of your data, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, or object to how we use it. Write to hello@vytley.com and we will respond within one month.
If you are unhappy with our response you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
